I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Let me take a moment to share a little about myself and the journey that shaped my approach to nutrition and dietetics.

I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist with many years of education and experience. Like many in the field, I began my studies with a weight-centric approach to nutrition. At the time, these views aligned with my own struggles with eating disorders and contributed to my challenges around food.

However, my journey evolved significantly during my Master's of Dietetics. My views began to shift as I learned more about the complexities of weight, eating behaviors, and the deeper emotional and psychological aspects of nutrition. Much of my new understanding came from the insightful guidance of my professors and supervisors, to whom I am deeply grateful. Their wisdom laid the foundation for my current practice.

I have lived experience with neurodivergence and, through self-learning, I’ve come to recognize how unhelpful many traditional approaches to eating can be for those of us with brains that are wired differently. This experience has inspired me to embrace a more affirming, inclusive, and weight-neutral approach to nutrition counselling—something I am truly passionate about.

In my practice, I offer compassionate support to individuals of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds. I aim to create a space where all bodies are welcome, and where everyone can feel empowered to explore a healthier relationship with food.

I’m here to support you on your journey.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. If you’re ready to take the next step or simply want to know more, I’d love to connect with you!

Warmly,
Lauren Carmichael
